Amazing Ashburton’s recycled plastic trim trail – April 2026 – Ashburton Primary, Devon

Amazing Ashburton! During the Easter holidays of 2026, our teams worked hard to ensure that Ashburton Primary’s brand new recycled plastic trim trail was fully installed for when the children returned after easter.

We were chosen as the preferred contractor by Westcountry Schools Trust due to being a trusted contractor & being able to offer a beautifully arranged trim trail for KS1 KS2, made using non rotting, non splintering, sustainable recycled plastic. WEST along with the school chose to us & this material due to experience with other sites & the huge lifespan that recycled plastic play & trim trail equipment carries. This alongside minimal maintenance for years to come.

We designed this to utilise an existing patch of wet pour rubber, to save removal & the huge cost involved, but we then encompassed the whole surface with our high quality artificial grass. This gave the school new use of this space alongside being easy to supervise & manage. This is something that we took into account when designing from the beginning, whereas some alternative quoting companies didn’t allow for this, this is where being very experienced playground professionals comes into it’s own.

The layout allows use in various ways, by the whole school age group & allows children to sue the items individually, or as a clustered trail.

These photos were taken a few weeks later & when visiting the school mentioned how very happy they are with the finished project & handling of it.
