The pre-school had a mixed surface of loose rubber and very old bonded rubber. The systems they had in place were causing issues with compliance for fall heights and involved ongoing maintenance with expensive top-up costs. Rhino Play looked at the area and advised the school on the most cost-effective, low-maintenance and suitable safety surfacing.
Rhino Play undertook the work in April 2026 after the old loose rubber was removed. We laid weed suppressant membranes and re-surfaced two sections of the play space with bonded rubber mulch, giving the school an all-year-round, low-maintenance surface suitable for play equipment and fall heights.
We also installed some standalone mini movers play equipment and a mud kitchen.
The school was over the moon with the updated surface and the possibilities it opened up for all-year-round play.
