Having a high-quality, entertaining and physically and mentally challenging playground for children to learn, play and socialise in is incredibly important for children of all ages. This is why West Hill Primary School in East Devon wanted to replace their old and dilapidated trim trail in their KS1 and KS2 school playground.
West Hill Primary School reached out to the team at Rhino Play, for help transforming their worn-out playground. Their existing trim trail had been sitting in their school field for years and wasn’t getting the love or attention from the children, so the students weren’t benefiting from the equipment.
Rhino Play helped to design a bespoke trim trail that included all elements and measurements the school required. We installed balance beams, tyre challenges, clatter bridges and split traverse walls, in a short, but fun circuit. Each element is designed to help the children develop their balance, coordination, core strength, problem-solving and motor skills in a fun and active environment. We installed the brand new, high-quality timber trim trail, near a path allowing the equipment to be accessible all year round.
Our trim trails are designed to be low-level, allowing children of all ages and abilities to enjoy and benefit from them, without risk of injury. As well as the height safety of the trim trail, we installed all of the equipment on our wide range of safety surfacing, including rubber grass mats and turf to help provide additional impact absorbance, just in case of any small falls.
Adding a trim trail to your school is a fantastic way to encourage children to be active outdoors, allowing them to use different types of movement and coordination, therefore helping build their confidence and fitness levels at the same time.
