Safety Surface Repair Service

Here at Rhino Play we pride ourselves on our design & product manufacture expertise, as well as providing a repair service to all clients. This repair service rolls out to all types of equipment & safety surfaces, originally provided by us or other suppliers. Our experienced consultants & engineers can normally repair any type of defect & if not we will quote for replacements.

Repairing Safety Surfacing For Maximum Results

One of the most popular repairs that we get asked for is to infill gaps in wet pour rubber safety surfaces. This is caused by expansion & contraction of the different surfaces, often caused by our varied British weather! This problem can also be caused by underlying base problems, vehicle damage or just general use & age. The rubber normally separates from the neighbouring tarmac, thus creating a gap that can become large enough to form a trip hazard, or can allow children or vandals to attempt to rip it up causing a more expensive repair or replacement. You will often find that surfaces with several colours or joins, will cause more of a problem as each join is a weakness.

In an ideal world we would suggest to everyone to skim over the entire area again to encapsulate the existing surface, thus removing any joins which create weak spots. However many clients cannot afford this, so they ask for the cheapest solution which is gap filling & applying new edges.

Over the summer especially, we have replaced a lot of edges in various areas. It’s worth noting however that with any repair, it should be deemed as a repair & not a long term solution. These gap repairs will eventually separate again, within an unknown timescale, however they can be very useful as a short term fix.
