Play Tower at the Crown Inn, Old Basing, Hampshire – April 2026

The Crown Inn at Old Basing is a historic pub with a lovely pub garden, but the existing play unit was tired, in a poor state and needed removing as it didn’t comply with regulations. Sat at the top tier of the pub garden, the area needed improving to encourage families to stay and eat whilst the children could have fun playing in a safe environment.

A Bespoke Castle Play Tower

Rhino Play put together a bespoke themed climbing tower based on the Country Castle design, with a climbing ramp, fire pole, platform with an under-deck mini pub, and a slide. It made the most of the small space available, and the unit even included a personalised sign featuring the pub’s own logo.

Playground Equipment and Safety Surfacing

The new design re-imagined the space with a castle play unit and grass matting safety surfacing. The photographs show the finished playground equipment installed into the grass area.
