Back in early 2021 Rhino Play SW were asked by Cockington Primary School, part of Coast Academies Trust, to quote for & design their very large outdoor area in the EYFS section of the school. Several companies quoted & designed for this, however thankfully for us we won the contract based on our design, understanding of the requirements, quote value for money & capacity for executing the complete project. This project involved the complete revamp of the entire area, including the removal of various items, the surfacing of a large mound with slope, shelter provision & fencing.
We worked closely with the school & began installing some areas in the summer holidays of 2021 & then throughout the Autumn & winter terms. At all times working with the school to enable the use by them at the same time, this allowed a very large project like this to be actioned & completed in stages, whilst in use & whilst adaptions could be made to enable a more effective use of the areas.
The school wanted to extend their existing shelter with a shelter that incorporated coloured panel section for sensory requirements, have a heat reducing roof & be able to be used at all times of the year. You’ll see what we managed to achieve with this on these photos.
