Rhino Play supplied local Plymouth Primary School, Widey Court Primary, with an attractive, functional, and low-maintenance feature to their school field. Rhino Play’s Rubber Mulch Daily Mile Track can be enjoyed whatever the weather, thanks to its low-slip, and low-absorption surface.
Widey Court Primary Schools Daily Mile Track was installed around their school playing field, at the rear of the school. Allowing children and adults to enjoy the track during their playtimes, at their own pace. Because the track is following the perimeter of the playing field, whoever is walking and using the track will still be involved and in the thick of the activities going on in the playground during breaks. Ideal for on-duty staff members to patrol the perimeter of the field with ease.
The Daily Mile Track has been designed so that just over six laps of the 265m long track equals one mile. Keeping the walk interesting, and stimulating for the children, the track has been created to follow the slopes and falls of the area. Thanks to the rubber material used to create the track, the mile can be used in any weather conditions, as water should not be able to pool on the rubber, creating a non-slip surface track to enjoy all year round.
The changes in trajectory increase and decrease naturally, creating a varied path to walk or run around. The activity can be enjoyed individually or with friends, thanks to its 1.2m width, allowing children or adults to walk two abreast.
While we offer a range of attractive colours for our Daily Mile Track, Widey Court Primary School decided on installing a light beige track, manufactured out of recycled rubber and a specialised binder. The rubber mixture is installed on top of a stone base, which has a weed-proof membrane below, ensuring water drainage, but preventing weed penetration. Adding a fantastic additional sport and fitness facility to this primary school.
