Magnificence At Millwater SEN School – November 2022

Rhino Play was invited to install bespoke playground equipment for Millwater School, a specialist school in East Devon for children and young adults who have complex, severe and profound multiple learning difficulties.
We began to work on the redevelopment of the quad area within the Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, turning the space from a fairly blank canvas into an exciting playground that allowed children of all abilities to enjoy their playtime within a safe and secure environment.

How Did Rhino Play Help Millwater School?

The playground design and planning team at Rhino Play have been supplying SEN schools and nurseries with specialist equipment for over ten years, improving the quality of play time for many young children and adults.
Millwater school originally had a singular square quad area that contained some seating, blank areas of concrete and a tree situated within the space. The school believed that this area could be more stimulating and fun for all of the children to use. So, they worked closely with us to incorporate some fun and beneficial playground equipment which is why we added an inground trampoline to maximise entertainment, outdoor gym equipment that was easy to use. We then installed an impact absorbing wet pour rubber mulch surfacing for increased safety. Green and yellow paint was added to the energetic and playful atmosphere, making the playground an exciting area for children to enjoy.
