When it came to replacing the rotten timber climber that previously stood there, it was agreed that the most sensible approach was to replace using Rhino Plays recycled plastic, giving at least 30 years minimum of non rotting, non splintering, sustainable use when compared with timber. This environmental approach in Exeter is now seen more & more in our clients requiring a much longer lasting, much less maintenance & more sustainable play area than previously available in just timber.
We designed the new area along with the requirements of the school, in order to provide a challenging climbing, core & upper body strength area. This provides the children of this central city school the rare opportunity to use their upper body, express themselves, find reward from using upper body & core & also encouraging each other to create their own games around it.
The equipment had to fit within the tight constrictions whilst still allowing the correct falling spacing to the areas around it.
As budget was limited, we used Rubber Grass matting that not only provided the relevant fall height requirements, but also allowed the grass to eventually grow through & provide a natural green area within this city schools grounds.
The mainly linked trim trail consists of an Overhead Ladder or Monkey Bars, Vertical Net, Pull Up or Somersault Bars & a Ramp Net Climber. All of this in non rotting, non splintering, non splitting, sustainable & very long lasting 100% recycled plastic, with the bars being in stainless steel.
The design allows the equipment to be added to in future years if required too.
