Marhamchurch Primary School – North Cornwall – September 2024

Having previously completed work for LAPSW (Learning Academy Partnership, South West), Rhino Play were asked to visit Marhamchurch Primary, near Bude, North Cornwall, with the redesign and development of their EYFS (early years foundation stage) and existing playground.

The Brief

The school wanted to transform their EYFS playground area by installing new fun playground markings to brighten up the space, including:

They also wanted the team to move their existing blue steel gates further down the premises and add in new bow-top playground fencing to increase the EYFS playground area. As well as complete various other tasks, including:

  • Move the existing planters and install them on a tarmac base
  • Remove old and rotten playground equipment and replace it with new
  • Install artificial grass on the play area
  • Provide transparent perspex screens to the existing shelter posts, to allow light & visibility, but also protect from the rain & strong winds that buffer the Cornish coasts

Meaning, that upon their return to school in September, students and staff were surprised by the brand-new playground.

How Did Rhino Play Help?

Rhino Play worked with the school to create a fun, safe and exciting environment for the children to enjoy, socialise and learn. As part of the redevelopment of the site, the team installed new playground equipment for the children to enjoy, including:
