The Rhino Play design and installation team has been providing schools, nurseries, communities and businesses with high-quality, innovative and bespoke playground equipment.
Recently our team was put to the test by a local primary school in Exmouth, Withycombe Raleigh Primary in Exmouth. The team were challenged to create an intricate and linked treetop play system, wrapping around the school’s existing oak and beech trees, which the early year’s foundation stage (EYFS) children could enjoy.
Having spent years designing high-scope, intricate and bespoke playground designs for children of all ages and abilities to enjoy, the team jumped at the opportunity to build something as unique as this! Understandably, the systems were not allowed to touch or damage the trees.
That said, we designed a freestanding timber tower, so as not to damage the roots, which encircled the tree’s trunk but did not lean on or touch the tree. This also was to allow for growth around each without causing traps or gaps that the children can become caught up in.
The new EYFS tree-top play system is a huge piece of equipment, designed to challenge and excite the children lucky enough to utilise it. The terrific treehouses’ three structures were connected with various playground apparatus, including:
Not only are the three tree houses interconnected with lots of equipment to enjoy, but the structures also allow for endless opportunity to engage in creative and dynamic play!
We worked closely with the staff of Withycombe Raleigh Primary School, to help ensure their vision for their EYFS play area was brought to life. All of our playground installations are manufactured to fit specific requirements, to ensure a safe, secure and long-lasting play unit.
The newly installed tree-top playground equipment helps to build children’s confidence and develop various skills, including, balance & agility, teamwork, social skills, creative play, coordination, physical development, fitness levels, problem-solving skills, gross motor skills.
Withycombe Raleigh C of E Primary School’s new EYFS play area looks fantastic and will be with the school for many years to come; encouraging, challenging and supporting students as they grow and develop physically and academically.
If you would like to install a similar playground design to your school, we have a wide range of playground equipment tailored to suit your school’s requirements, including: Size, design and budget.
