Traversing fun with this Rainbow Angled Bouldering Wall. Walter Infant School had a long exposed fence line which they wanted to screen off as much as possible from the property next door. It was an under-utilised area of tarmac, and the school wanted to add climbing and traversing equipment that also acted as a screen. The brief was to include a traversing challenge and a multi-sided shop pod. Rhino Play put together a concept that included these elements, but also injected colour and some much-needed fun into a safety requirement for a more private fence screen.
The design re-imagined the space with a long angled bouldering wall with rainbow highlights and multi-coloured grips. The angled sections provide additional challenge and interest, elevating a standard flat traverse wall into a unit that can be used again and again with multiple route options. The equipment we installed was the Angled Bouldering Wall and Shop Pod.
The equipment offers a chance for the children to be socially interactive, engaged and challenged, helping to develop their physical strength and balancing skills. The school loved the concept, and the finished installation met the brief and delivered the “wow” factor the school were looking for.
