Torquay outdoor teaching just got better, all in time for Winter 2020

Over the summer of 2020 we supplied & installed our superb 5m diameter, Outdoor classroom Gazebo at this Torquay Primary School. This new sheltered classroom & teaching area replaced a what was previously a bare area of soil within an existing green outdoor carpet. With the shelter set on a prominent high point, the design, structural strength & usability had to be thought about properly. For this we provided solid half sides to give some protection to users on the inner benches & we also extended the roof out to provide more of a rain protection factor. The entrance is situated to provide good supervision & the most easiest access to all of the pupils at St Margaret’s Academy.

We surfaced the inner area & outer rim of the outdoor classroom teaching area with our rubber mulch safety surface. This surface provides a seamless step-less surface from the carpet & also flows with the ground contours, it doesn’t puddle & offers a more comfortable seating experience if pupils decide to sit on the floor inside.

As you can see it blends in so well too & compliments the area perfectly for outdoor teaching opportunities.
