Repairing and Renewing Play Facilities At Portfield School, Christchurch

At Rhino Play, we pride ourselves on always working around our client’s schedules. When working on transforming school playgrounds, this often means working during the school holiday breaks, to ensure minimal disruption to the school day.

In 2020, the Rhino Play team supplied and installed numerous play facilities and SEN (Special Educational Needs) playground equipment for a local school, Portfield School, is run by Autism Wessex and provides schooling and care for pupils with different levels of autism. So as part of the renewal and repairs of the equipment, it was important to keep the existing playground as similar as possible, as children or young adults with autism can find change of routine stressful. This is another reason as to why these repairs were completed during the school holidays.

How Did Rhino Play Transform Portfield School, Dorset?

By focusing on repairing and renewing playground equipment, we removed previous equipment that had not been able to stand the test of time and replaced this with our high-quality, durable play equipment. In order to maximise the experience for all of the students at Portfield school, we supplied many different items of our play equipment, including:

We were faced with the difficulty of restricted access through the double set of doors, however, we successfully overcame this and as you can, see completed marvellous results.
