Recycled Plastic (non rotting) Trim Trail – Farway Primary, East Devon – April 2024

When the 15 or so year old timber trim trail rotted out completely at Farway Primary, set in a beautiful rural valley East Devon, the school & the MAT wanted to replace it with product that not only never rotted, but also would give them years & years of service without the cost of replacing timbers & ongoing costly repairs. They were also swayed by the fact that the recycled plastic alone creates less than 55% of the carbon footprint of any Redwood timber trail.

The school also wanted a legacy that would remain for many years to come & for a lot longer than any timber trim trail from any timber manufacturer & installer.

The school asked Rhino play to meet with them to discuss using their own recycled plastic trim trail equipment. Rhino Play provided a design & a quote that was very acceptable to the school & therefore commissioned Rhino Play to supply & install a whole new recycled plastic non-rotting & low level trim trail.

Rhino removed all of the old equipment but re-used the traversing panels as they were made of HDPE & set these on new posts.
The looped trim trail flows very well in the compact area & allows fabulous non-prescriptive play, balance, co-ordination & co-ordination within the setting.

Please speak with us about your trim trail or play equipment ideas & we can show you how this can work in environmental recycled plastic.
