The Cat & Fiddle Inn’s owners and brewery invited the team at Rhino Play to help them totally transform their outside space.
The pub had a large car park and part of it was being transformed from tarmac to grass, to create a large and inviting pub garden. Ultimately, the pub wanted to attract more visitors, especially families, as the pub is situated on the main road to Exeter, about a mile from the popular family attraction Crealy Adventure Park.
Before installation, our team of playground designers worked closely with the pub to best understand what they wanted to include in their new and improved playground area. They wanted to create an environment where children could enjoy the playground equipment, while parents kept an eye on them and were able to enjoy the food and beverages serviced by the pub.
To help bring their vision to life, the team at Rhino Play designed a bespoke adventure climber, based on the Hatherop Castle, which included various playground equipment products, including:
As well as installing the new play area, the team also installed a double flat seat swing together with black and coloured fleck wet pour safety surfacing over the tarmac. This replaced some old broken planters, small fir trees & seating, but gave a safe space for swings being in an area where people cannot pass through.
By choosing to install a range of playground equipment to be enjoyed by children of all ages, The Cat & Fiddle pub is increasing its customer base. Brightly coloured play structures can captivate a child’s imagination and we are delighted with the outcome of the playground redesign for this Devon pub.
