Looking wonderful in Wembury – Recycled Play Trail – April 2025

Last year we at Rhino Play were chosen by Wembury primary School, part of Westcountry Schools Trust, to provide them with a completely new trim trail & rubber surfacing.

Building Long-Lasting Playground Relationships

Rhino Play were chosen due to the fact that they were well known & trusted by the school & the trust, but also because the trail that Rhino offered was made using non rotting equipment. The rotting of the previous timber trail was of constant concern for the school, costing thousands of pounds altogether to keep running. This is one key winning element that all of Rhino Plays recycled plastic play equipment has, is that the individual elements will not rot & therefore will be so much easier & cheaper to maintain than any timber trail of any type.

Durable Playground Equipment

The recycled plastic that Rhino use is sourced from across the UK & Europe & is made using fully recycled materials, that at the end of their very long service life can be fully recycled again.

The top beams are in galvanised & powder coated steel too, meaning exceptionally long life. All of these factors are extremely important, especially in a coastal environment such as this.

Rhino laid new Rubber Mulch over the old grass carpet paths that used to be there, providing an appealing & slip resistant safety surfacing that makes it able to be used for much more of the year.

The trail was created over the footprint of the old & forms a continuous loop.

All in all the school & trust are very pleased with the new trail & the fact that they have used a sustainable, non rotting, salt water resistant & very low maintenance product too.
