Rhino Play transformed the outdoor play areas of this Newton Abbot primary school throughout the summer & autumn of 2019. The criteria was to provide some bespoke as well as standard structures & surfaces for SEN, KS1 & KS2 children, we managed this with the Hawks Tor Adventure Climber for the SEN & KS1 children giving them non-prescriptive play & physical exploration opportunities, it also provides a ‘go to’ place for some SEN children in times of need.
We provided a Daily Mile Track for the whole school in the playing field, using a mix of bound rubber & stone safety surfacing that provides all weather usage as well as an appealing & extremely hard wearing surface. In case anyone wants to spectate or get some sun & rain protection, we also added an Outdoor Classroom 5m Gazebo at the base of the field complete with an outdoor chalkboard.
For the children’s sports & playtimes, site security & classes, we replaced the worn out chain link with a fantastically hard wearing rebound MUGA fencing at 3m high in green. This also included 2 inbuilt football & basketball goals too.
In the top playground we installed various pieces of trim trail equipment to provide some co-ordination & physical challenges for the children too, with the extra appealing purple wet pour rubber safety surfacing giving a bright new look to the area.
