Early Years Fun – Homelands, Torquay – October 2022

Homelands Primary School, Torquay, contacted the team at Rhino Play for our playground design and planning services. The school wanted to transform their existing early-year foundation stage, with brand-new playground equipment, which the EYFS students would benefit from for many years to come.

How Did Rhino Play Transform The Existing EYFS Playground?

Before our team could start constructing the brand-new EYFS playground equipment, the team first removed the old play unit and play house which had been well-used and loved by many students. We then resurfaced the area with our wet pour safety surfacing, providing a safe and soft surface for children to play on.

Once the team were happy with the safety element of the playground surface, we started construction on the brand-new climbing frame, Rydon Castle from our crooked category. The low-level climbing frame is perfect for younger children with lots of apparatus for them to enjoy. The interactive multi-play system provides a huge amount of imaginative play, as well as elements such as: sliding, crawling, climbing, balance, coordination and much more!

We also installed a set of our ever-popular traverse and climbing walls along the edge of the playground. Not only are the climbing walls a fantastic, space-saving piece of equipment, but they can also be enjoyed by EYFS and KS1 children.

The school also wanted to include outdoor learning elements, including a shelter and imaginative play space and our safari cabin provided the school with just that.
