Last year Rhino Play was contacted by St Edmunds College in Ware, Herts. This private boarding and day college wanted to replace its old playground equipment and wanted something which would blend in with the prestigious and historic backdrop of the prestigious public school and rural surroundings.
The school had previously seen the Rhino Play’s bespoke themed product ranges and wanted a play unit which would appeal to children of all ages and abilities. Rhino Play’s design team created the now popular Camelot Castle. The school appreciated the historical element of the castle’s namesake, as well as the wide selection of play elements for children across the key stages.
St Edmunds caters for pupils from the ages of 3 to 18, so needed an inclusive environment where younger and older children can develop their physical, social and mental abilities outside of the classroom environment. The new Camelot Castle was designed with turrets, traverse and climbing walls, castle ramps and drawbridge rope bridges, turrets and much more.
The castle had to cater for children of all ages and provides the following opportunities for children and adults alike:
The Camelot Castle was installed on our playground safety surfacing, specifically our rubber mulch surfacing, which not only provides a safe and soft ground for the children to jump, climb and crawl on but also allows the timber castle to blend into the beautiful rural surroundings.
As St Edmunds houses and teaches pupils aged three and above, it was important that they had a safe environment where children can develop and improve their physical and social skills. The new Rhino Play playground equipment helps encourage children to develop the following skills:
Having been designing, installing and maintaining playgrounds for almost 25 years, helping create safe, fun and unique spaces where they can express themselves, make friends and burn off excess energy.
