At Rhino Play, we have designed and installed playground equipment for parishes and local authorities for many years. In that time, our team has transformed the look, feel and functionality of hundreds of public playgrounds, giving local and visiting families and children a safe place to play, socialise and enjoy.
The parish council of Hawkchurch in East Devon, reached out to Rhino Play, asking our team of playground specialists to design and install new playground equipment.
The council wanted to install a new play and climbing system, however, it had to comply with legislation on fall spaces and provide the children with:
They also wanted the team to remove any old or damaged playground equipment and prepare the ground for the new playground equipment.
The parish was much overdue for a playground renovation, replacing old, failing playground equipment with new and improved play apparatus – providing a safe area for children of all ages to learn through play.
All of the above was completed in July, just before the school holidays, so local and visiting children would benefit from the new playground equipment throughout the summer holiday
Before introducing the new playground equipment, the team removed the existing swings that were installed in the area and fitter rubber mulch safety surfacing.
Then, working closely with the parish, we designed and manufactured our ‘St Dennis Climber’ to fit all of the specifications highlighted by the parish. The climber included:
All of the above were designed and installed to fit the requested fall space limits and were chosen thanks to their range of benefits, which fitted with the parish’s brief.
