Beach Fun in Porthtowan – January 2022

Everyone, no matter their age, enjoys the weightless feeling of swinging through the air. It’s even better if you’re swinging on a beach in Cornwall with the sun on your face. Rhino Play recently made that dream a reality for anyone visiting Porthtowan beach, Cornwall.

Installing A Beach Swing Set In Cornwall

Porthtowan is a small seaside town in North Cornwall, and its beautiful beach has recently become home to Rhino Play’s sturdy, timber playground and park swings. Perfectly situated next to the beach cafe and shop, Porthtowan has installed a fabulous beach playground, where children and adults can enjoy the beach outside of the traditional sea and beach activities.

The town requested specially designed swing sets that allow children and adults of any age to play and enjoy the equipment. Because of these specific requirements, we added several different swing seats to the set, including two standard flat rubber seats as well as two supportive cradle seats.

These swings will be buffeted by the elements, and the salt of the sea, more than a traditional swing set in a park or field, so we fitted the swings to our robust swing frame system which was then treated with a wood stain to help protect the wood from the harsh Cornish weather conditions.
