The standard run is 25m, with other lengths and bespoke setups available to suit your site. Our zip-line can be installed with a timber starting platform on a flat site, or set straight onto a sloping play space to make the most of the natural landscape.

Every Rhino Play zip-line is designed and installed for outdoor commercial use, with weather-resistant timbers and high-grade stainless steel components built to handle heavy daily use. The starting end is also tensionable, allowing you to retighten the cable as it naturally relaxes over time, keeping the ride fast and consistent for years. For installs near the coast, we can supply marine-grade stainless steel components designed to resist salt water winds and damp conditions.

When the zip-line is installed on grass, we recommend rubber grass matting as the safety surface beneath the seat area. It protects the grass from wear and meets the impact attenuation requirements for the critical fall height of 1.2m. Our team will talk through the most suitable safety surfacing options for your site as part of the design process.

This standard governs the design, manufacture and installation of the equipment, including the cable tension, carriage braking and the safe drop zone beneath the line.

How much space is required to install a zip-line?

Our standard zip-line has a footprint of 25.8 metres in length by 2.76 metres in width, with a 25 metre run. Other lengths are available on request.

You’ll also need a clear, level area at either end of the line for safe approach and landing, with no overhanging branches or obstacles within the run zone.

Can the zip-line be installed without a launch platform?

Yes. If your site has a natural slope, the zip-line can be installed straight onto the ground, using the existing landscape to give the ride enough height and momentum.
For flat sites, our timber launch platform raises the start of the run to give children a more thrilling ride along the line.

Rhino Play zip-lines are designed for children aged 5 to 12. The shrouded chain with a rubber button seat gives a comfortable, secure ride, and the design is also suitable for some users with special educational needs (SEN), depending on individual ability.
