Recycled plastic play equipment for Tregadillett Village – Launceston, Cornwall – April 2026

Rhino Play has recently completed a full revamp of the public play area in Tregadillett Village, near Launceston in Cornwall. The brief from the village was to remove the old rotten wooden play equipment and replace it with non wooden new equipment that would last a lot longer and be more resilient to both weather and everyday use, while still suiting the rural surroundings by blending in well with the area.

The Brief from Tregadillett Village

The previous timber equipment had reached the end of its life, and the village committee wanted a long term solution that would give local families a safe, modern play space for years to come.

Why Recycled Plastic Was the Right Choice

For a village play area managed by volunteers, the true cost of a scheme is spread over decades of maintenance. Our recycled plastic playground equipment is made from brown plastic sourced from Europe. Although recycled plastic is around 25% more expensive than timber at the point of purchase, it should last around four times longer – a huge win for any local authority or community group planning ahead.
