Making better use of playground slopes. Barnstaple, Devon – Feb 2022

After designing, installing and maintaining playground equipment for schools and nurseries for almost a decade, at Rhino Play, we love transforming playgrounds and breathing new life into them with new and exciting products for children to enjoy. We recently spent some time in Barnstaple at the Eden Park Academy, working to transform their playground with new and exciting climbing frames, climbing towers and slides.

How Did Rhino Play Help Eden Academy?

The school wanted to replace their tired old play unit installed on the top of a grassy slope in the early years’ playground. The school wanted to keep an existing net bridge and have it incorporated into the new playground design. To ensure the existing net bridge was properly incorporated into the new playground equipment, we worked closely with the school to discuss their needs and requirements.

The team installed two timber towers and reconnected the existing rope bridge in between to create a fun and exciting piece of playground equipment where children can play independently or as a group. A traversing & climbing wall was also installed along with a slide for children to play and enjoy together. Stairs were installed alongside the climbing ramp to offer two different access routes so children of all abilities can enjoy the new equipment.
